Fanny Burney once wrote, There is nothing up on the force of earth so insipid as a medium. Give me love or give me hate! A friend that will go to jail for me, or an opposition that will run me through the body! I opine that with this quote she meant she doesnt want just any friend, she wants a soul to all love or hate her, she wants either extreme. I would have to agree with this statement because its better to have devoted people who love you, than psyche who doesnt love you entirely and ends up betraying you. The proceeding will explain this belief.
In the first place, it is pet to have a loving and dependable friend, than have a friend in a sort of middle ground. If psyche has a friend that is truly faithful, then they wont go behind their back and hurt them. For example, one that confides in other then that person goes behind the first ones back to someone else, then returns as if nothing occurred. One would want a friend thats trust chargey and wont betray them.




In the kindred way, its best to have someone hate you than pretend to be ones familiar. At least if you know they hate you, you would know to fend off them. You would know their feelings towards you and tail therefore avoid conflict with that contingent person. Its better to just stay away than fake creation acquaintences and being deceived later.
In final consideration, the previous explains why I agree with Burneys quote. I would rather have people who either love or hate me, no middle ground. I prefer having someone I know is loyal, than someone who can possibly betray me.
