Plunkitt Essay
Words: 851
George Washington Plunkitt is an interesting man which is quite evident from reading only a few pages of his semipolitical handbook. It is my belief that he views himself in highregards and feels as thought he added a great deal to society during his magazine rude(a) York. I will be discussing my views on him and how the people who lived during his time seemed to feel virtually him based on his written work.
When i think of political relation and politicians there is one word that seems to summarise them all up, corruption. Not a lot has changed since the time Plunkitt was in office and i am sure that things were similar in the lead he was arround. The Tammany manpower were relentless when it came to politics; they wanted to net income every election no matter how big or small. It was his belief that if they didnt win then thier politics and party would concisely fade so obviously if they flooded the market with Tammany men then how would they ever loose in the political compass when it came to making law and making money.Plunkitt hated reformers and felt that they would never be successful. He called them morning glories in essence that would count on good in the beginning but most of them didnmt shake up what it took to make see the fight out until the end.
I thinkg that was someting that he prided himself in was that he was in it to win it. He believed that politics were sometihng you did from the time you were a little kid, not something that you just do because you want to try something new.
It appeared as though most of the exasperation that he faced was from the fact that he couldnt win plenteous elections, or when he did the people elected were not adequate to(p) to pass the required civil service exams. Plunkitt made it a point to say that theses exams were useless and to point out that a mans patriotism should be worth more than some light-headed answers on a test.
One of my favorite parts about these chosen chapters was his take on honest v. dishonest...If you want to narrow a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
