Hinduism is a very old religion( 4000years) , it is associated with the Indian sub continent, it is a doctrine that changed through with(predicate) years due to external and internal factors. This word Hinduism is a concept of the nineteenth century when India was colonized by the British. There argon study texts in Hinduism that argon: Vedas, Upanishads, and Bagavad Gita . the authors of this texts are unknown; Mahabarata that is Bagavad Gita has been composed through 800 years, and Vedas is considered as the heart of this religion like if it was the heart of an onion plant and the other texts growing around it. In the early Hinduism, physical sacrifices were made to gods, each one of these gods has a responsibility. People were doing these sacrifices because they needed something in return. The Brahmin is the one playing this kind of sacrifices because they are the ones knowing the sacred (Vedas: knowledge of the sacred); they play the role on an intermediary between the person who seeks the favor and the gods. While performing these rituals, they start speaking the words of the Vedas and become more than human beings, in fact they are in trance, it is like the gods are speaking through them. What these Brahmin speak is what we peal brahman ( sacred: holy words).
Then, you have the Upanishads which are considered as a revolution within the religion, as in this part you extend from the public space to the private one. Now, you start to sacrifice something that is personal, something that belongs to you, precisely why Hinduism ask us to sacrifice our possessions?
Actually, there is no hell or heaven in Hinduism, because they assume that we are already in hell. It has been claimed that the pleasures of life are erroneous and that if we afflict to get rid of them, we are going to discover our spirit Atman . the Atman has no name, it is like a universal soul that we call Brahman.
