What is self? What creates my star of self? I started to ask myself that enquiry rather frequently for the past few days cod to the fact that Im taking up twain Psychology and Social Anthropology this semester. Psychology is the scientific study humankind behavior and mental processes. Social Anthropology (SA) on the other communicate is the study of individuals, how they live, how they act and how they interact in their society. In inn for me to understand how a person, including myself, acts or thinks a certain panache is through Psychology and SA. These two fields of study go hand and hand in my quest of discovering who I am and what perplexs me me.
Childhood experiences plays a big part in creating my sense of self. These argon the kind of learning processes that I consent been through while growing up. Some of my learning experiences are very Pavlovian in nature, rooting in the thought of Behaviorism, where I learned to associate certain sounds and expressions with contrasting events. Other snips, mother used reinforcement theories, such as those used by Skinner , which my to use on me to make me learn things.



In order to grow up as a respectable and morally upright individual judge by society, my parents have conditioned me since childhood the proper path to talk, act, walk and etc. For example, I used to love sulphurous my nails when I was a 4 or so, all kids do, so what my parents did in order for me to stop biting was to put tiger Balm or Vicks all over my hand. Since then, every time I bite my nails, I remember the taste of tiger Balm, and eventually I stopped. Another example of this kind of condition was when my parents would always hit me by my arm or my goat whenever I sit with my feet on top of the chair quite of properly sitting down every dinner time. When this happened quite a few times, I would never do it again because I dont regard to be hit.
