Communication is at the philia of any business, but how effectively and efficiently communication is used, is what separates growing companies to companies that falter. Communication technology is changing at the speed of crystallise and companies these days must learn to adapt quickly to remain unmatched step ahead of the competition.
Fifteen days past the internet was still in its infancy and very fewer people had access to it or even knew of its existence. These days but about everyone on the planet and in space (Space Station) is connected to the internet. When I began my job with my current company nine old age ago, desktop PCs took up of your desk space and cell phones were just simply cell phones capable of talking remotely from one phone to another. Nowadays more sinewy laptops establish just about replaced desktops and smart-phones and PDAs, which are more powerful than desktops of nine years ago, drive replaced cell phones. Times have changed and so have the ways I fall.
Nine years ago I was only in charge of one restaurant and communications with my team was any verbally or through media by watching videos on a videocassette recorder (remember those).
Communication with my superiors and peers back then was made either by phone, e-mails or actual meetings. Nowadays I am in charge of ten restaurants and communication has changed a great deal. I know receive business related e-mail communications on my laptop as well as my smart-phone instantly. On my laptop I have access to all my restaurants reports and fooling transactions within minutes after they occur. I communicate on a daily basis with my team either thru e-mail, direct phone call, or a face-to-face visit. once a week we either have a corporal meeting where we all meet on one sensible location or we have a web-based on-line meeting where everyone can see my presentation on their desktops &/or laptops.
