Gerald has been identified as having Aspergers Syndrome. Attwood (2007) states, students with Autism Spectrum derangement (ASD) hold in difficulty with theory of the mind which is a fondness cognitive deficit. Gerald lacks brotherly skills and struggles to develop cooperative social interactions which contributes to measly chum relationships. This behaviour leaves Gerald excluded from friendships and social situations. This makes school unenjoyable for the student which drive out lead to outbursts of anger and fights with other students. Gerald needfully to be introduced to strategies to remedy his social skills which will positively contribute to his inclusion (pg 365, Ashman & Elkins) . Gerald involve routine without a routine Gerald finds it very unsettling and creates disturbances. It is important that Gerald is stipulation a warning before a routine change, so he has time to adapt to the changeover.
Gerald may also fork over the following characteristics; Impairment in social interaction(failure to develop friendships that be appropriate the childs developmental level, impaired apply of non verbal behaviour such as eye gaze, nervus facialis expression and body language, empathy and impaired ability to identify social cues), impairment of social communication (fluent speech but difficulties with converse skills), restrictive interests (special interest that are unusual in specialty and focus, preference to routine and consistency.
