Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder involving disturbance of thought, feeling and behaviour. It was first recognized by Emil Kraepelin1 in 1896 (then named dementia praecox) as a condition that onset in young adults and that was neurodegenerative in origin. Nowadays, diagnosis is made on the basis of symptomatic construe (Walker et al., 20042). The important symptoms are categorized as either corroborative or negative (as below), and in most of western fraternity they bring with them a high degree of stigma and friendly isolation (Read et al., 20063).
